If I could turn back time
This is not a regretful post. It was just triggered by my sis who is going j1 next yr and she has to choose her subject combination.
She asked me, " jie jie, how huh? I need to choose my subject combi." She stared at me, and I know she's been wanting to ask me this for a long time, like weeks ago, but i've been so busy with my own affairs, I hardly had time to talk to her. (well, on hindsight, she's been busy too)
My sister had been following my footsteps in many ways. Right from the start since primary school. We went to the same pri school, sec school, and now jc. We took up the same CCA. We speak alike. We sound alike. Most of the times, she saw how i made mistakes and learnt from the my successes throughout the years. She takes after my path usually. A path once trodden, just that this time round, she knows what she should do and what she shouldn't.
Sometimes, when I look at my sister, I think she mirrors me in the past in many ways. The way she dresses now, was how i dressed in sec 4. The way she thinks. The way she talks. The friends she tells me about.
My sister listens to me. Whenever she asks me for advice, I'll look back. And think, if I were given a second chance to live life all over again, what would I undo.
In the end, she decided on bio, econs, maths and chemistry. I just told her, it's a good combination and great choice, one that I would take too, just be prepared to MUG your ass off.
