I was playing basketball at one of the many courts near my home, and we were happily playing. Sweating it out, laughing, missing most of our shots, running. HAPPILY. and then, this group of middle age uncles and another group of guys were standing around the court. Threatening to chase us out of the court. And well they did.
They did it subtly though. First, one group took one side of the court, so we had half the court left. And then the middle aged uncles came over and took the centre of the basketball court. (and they were intending to play football on the bb court?! ) So I was kinda being cornered to like 1/4 of the court now. And then slowly but surely, they inched towards us. Kept kicking the ball near us. I was afraid if we din't leave soon, that's it THAT FOOTBALL is going to land on my head. And so we left. humph.
This wasn't the first time this kind of thing happened, last time, we were challenged by a group of ah bengs. and they were big and bulky and we were just a bunch of girls. so we left sulkily.
Then there was another time, me and zhifa were playing at 10 plus. And there was this loud sound, *bang* and this water bag was being thrown from one of the HDB flats. I think we were making too much noise. But that was scary.
And another time, another group of BIGGER guys came. ya la, they looked pro but so what. it's public space. but I was hum la, so i left humbly.
I asked my friend once, "eh, will u ever dare to fight them?" he looked at the group of guys, and then said," no la, I think I'll have a better chance if I ran." *dang* SIGH.
I hate being bullied. not like i can do anything abt it though.
