< Falling Into You

I was doing my usual round of packing of bags and luggages in the 'storeroom', when I chanced upon my photo albums. old ones. Those when I was a baby. Those in primary school. Secondary, JC. Even those when my parents were still young and happy and dating. Back then, my daddy was nicely tanned with a 6 pac which now has been replaced with a beer belly ( so huge that u wonder if he was pregnant ). Back then, mummy was young and pretty and had a pretty good figure. She was happily doing things she loved, performing in cultural shows, chilling with friends, going for parties and probably having romantic jogs up mount faber hill with daddy.

It was the bitter sweet kind of thing to actually look back and laugh at those silly little things you once did. Or the times when you thought were the best. The times when the simplest things can make u smile, things like birthdays, extended family get-aways, staying at ur neighbours house learning to ride the bike, learning to rollerblade. Then there was the years in adolescence, school cheers, inter-school competitions, school spirit, the wanting to win and win and even if we lost, we knew we had forged strong ties, made good friends, laughed and cried together.

I look back and I smile. Bitter cos I know that those days are gone and would never come back. Sweet cos I know I was once part of those beautiful times. I'm thankful for everything that I had and have now. And I know that there will continue to be more of these beautiful times coming on the way, and I plan to cherish every single moment of it. :)
