Berkelah was tough, tiring and it's REALLY what u called rock climbing, came back with cuts and bruises.
But met a lot of ppl and they were definitely a great bunch. The outdoor rovers club is cool!
Anyway, I was really lucky to have great camp mates. The threesome and me and a friend. I mean if we were in other tents,i.e the exclusive couples club group then wah lau, sian I tink. my tent mates were really funny, Jenson from computing who is really quite comical and witty at times, charmaineee--y as I call her is also fun and very very funny, she's even more animated and comical than me!!! N she's quite pretty too! And yen hui, another great person!
I suggested playing the dumbest games on the bus rides. Going to the toilet was a CHORE. They had this red light stick thing so they kinda mark out the girls toilet region. haha, and charmaineeee-y went," eh then the guys toilet is marked out using what colour?" My friend and Jenson just stared at her and laughed. I din't quite get it at first, then orh... yes guys dun really need toilets. It was times like that I sometimes wish I was a guy. MAH FUN to go toilet!!!
Anyway, the rocks were really slippery and I never expected trekking to be like that, I mean the route was pretty treacherous. It would have helped if I was petite and small and could squeeze past rocks and trees and roots and stuff. It would have also helped if I had more rock climbing experience.
I can't beleive the campers!! The more experienced rovers campers actually brought like pans and stuff and EGGS to cook. And I was wondering why are their bags so big!! No wonder full of food. And my group only had pathetic maggi noodles. I see why ppl can be addicted to trekking. Trekking in the jungle gives a surreal feeling, an escape from the world for that few days. Just enjoying the waterfall, and jumping into plunge pool, thrilling and fun. And after getting drenched in the rain, soiled, and tired out totally from climbing , sitting on the butt and sliding your way down the rocks, you reward yourelf by cooking a sumptous meal in the rain. The whole idea of rugged, rustic lifestyle. Bonds and friendships are also forged. It was a good experience.
Overall, I was really glad to be home and not having to worry abt porcupines poking into our tents and wild boars attacking us int he middle of the night. The streams were clear and it was great. We played silly games like heart attack and stuff and yelled our way through. Haha , there were a few hahas ppl so it made the trip really enjoyable.
As for today, I guess I'll be missing faith's birthday. And joining xinyi, chou de and mingli at sentosa!!
